Sarah has dedicated her 25-year career to education and technology, with a particular focus on ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in a digital world.
After earning her BEd (Hons) in Primary Education from Nottingham Trent University, she spent many years in the classroom, particularly specialising in computing as the lead in a number of schools. Her experience now spans teaching, leadership, national resource development, and grassroots support for schools. She has held multiple national and regional roles aimed at improving computing education. including Regional Coordinator in both the North West and North East for Computing at School, part of the British Computer Society and has been an active member of the CAS board for a number of years. In addition in her current role as NCCE Primary Computing Subject Matter Expert and Primary Computing Specialist with STEM Learning, she provide tailored support to schools, helping them enhance their computing provision. Her work with STEM Learning as a Senior Professional Development Lead involves designing and delivering national CPD programmes that build teacher confidence and expertise. She is also a CAS Primary Specialist, supporting teachers through Computing at School’s networks, and an advocate for inclusion through her work with the iBelong programme, which promotes gender diversity in computing. In the North East, she serves as the CyberFirst Schools Engagement Lead, building partnerships that connect schools with opportunities in cyber security and digital careers. I also lead the Coding and Computing initiative at Energy Central Learning hub in Northumberland, using her expertise to engage young people in areas of significant economic regeneration through renewable energy linked computing workshops As a Barefoot Ambassador, she promotes free, accessible resources to help teachers deliver high-quality computing lessons.
Sarah was also a instrumental part in the delivery phases of the CyberFirst Horizons programme!
