CyberFirst Regional Conference: A Huge Success

On 18th November, we hosted the CyberFirst Regional Conference at The Catalyst, Newcastle, bringing together 107 educators, industry professionals, and thought leaders for a day of expert insights, workshops, and networking.

Key Highlights

Inspiring Keynotes:

Dr. Meera Sarma, CEO of Cystel, spoke on building strong communities through collaboration.

Tom Jonson of Gateshead College delivered a powerful presentation on understanding hackers and the importance of IT knowledge to safeguard future generations.

Interactive Workshops:

Attendees participated in skills bootcamps, coding challenges, Cyber CTFs, and an immersive Enigma experience. Highlights included contributions from Sage, Sunderland University, Gateshead College, and Waterstons.

Networking & Exhibits:

With over 40 North East companies in attendance, the event fostered new connections and showcased innovations in cybersecurity. Exhibitors included Newcastle University, Cleveland Police, Infoblox, Aspire, and more.

This event strengthened collaboration between educators and industry professionals while raising awareness of cybersecurity’s critical importance.
